CPF Name Amendment

AMENDEMENT OF NAME TO ALIGN WITH THE STATION

We have received a request from the District SAPS to amend the name of the CPF to align with that of the station precinct name that we fall under, that being the Durban North SAPS. This is the standard that is being ensured across all CPFs in the region.

You will therefore notice that all communications, releases, imagery, logo, etc. reflect the updated change.

This change will require some administrative amendments in the background, none of which will affect the day-to-day or overall running, operations or function of the overall CPF, it’s sub-forums or associated units/roles.

Please note that this name change in no way changes the operational areas of the CPF, nor aims to exclude areas based on their name. These areas are the same operational areas that have always made up the Durban North SAPS precinct, and have not changed, with the exception of new developments that arose, albeit in the already existing coverage. There are no plans in place to expand or shrink the boundaries that make up the precinct.

For clarity, the Durban North SAPS Policing Precinct, therefore the DNCPF operational area comprises of three major suburbs of Durban North, Umhlanga and Umdloti, which fall under eThekwini Municipality.

Durban North – Broadway, Athlone, Prospect Hall, Beachwood, Virginia, Glenashley.
Umhlanga – La Lucia, Sunningdale, Somerset Park,
Upper Umhlanga: New Town Centre, Prestondale, Umhlanga Ridge, Westridge, Herrwood Park, Woodlands (Izinga Ridge).
Lower Umhlanga: Umhlanga Rocks, Village/CBD, Newlands.
Umdloti – Peace Cottage, Sibaya, Selection Beach, Newsel Beach/CBD, Umdloti Beach/Bellamont.
